Manuela Wossowski, 1978 in Krefeld geboren, schloss 2004 ihr Studium an der Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf mit dem Akademiebrief ab, sie ist Meiserschülerin bei Prof. Jörg Immendorff.
Sie wurde mit dem Reisestipendium des Vereins der Freunde und Förderer der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf und dem dHCS-Atelierstipendium des Kunstvereins für die Rheinlande und Westfalen geehrt. Noch während ihres Studiums nahm sie teil an der Ausstellung - Die neue Düsseldorfer Malerschule – im Museum Haus Lange / Krefeld. ( … ) Gemein haben alle Bilder die ständig bewegten Szenerien, welche zu einer spontanen Arbeitsweise zwingen, die Unvorhersehbares einkalkuliert und Überraschungen begrüßt. Ich will die Atmosphäre und Stimmung des Ortes einfangen und desssen Lebendigkeit auf das Bild übertragen. Licht, das oft künstlich und bunt ist oder alles in Brauntöne taucht, und Schatten, spielen dabei eine große Rolle. Die Malweise ergibt sich aus der Beobachtung der Wirklichkeit, Verinnerlichung und Übertragung auf das Bild. Sie mutet klassisch, traditionell an, Vorbilder finden sich bei den Impressionisten, van Gogh, Munch und der niederländischen Genremalerei des 17.Jhd. Die Freude am Nachahmen der Wirklichkeit bekommt jedoch stets auch etwas Brüchiges, Widersprüchliches, da die Kunstgeschichte der letzten Jahrzehnte ebenso wenig geleugnet wird. Die Bilder fangen seismografisch die Gegenwart ein, mit den für mich einfachsten und naheliegensten Mitteln. In der Präsentation wird ein Gesamtbild aus vielen einzelnen Werken entstehen, das den skizzenhaften Entstehungsprozesss, seine Direktheit und Lebendigkeit widerspiegelt. Wossowski was honored with the travel grant of the Society of Friends of the Dusseldorf Art Academy and the dHCS - studio scholarship of the Art Association of the Rhineland and Westphalia. While still a student , she participated in the Exhibition - The new Düsseldorf School of Painting - at the Museum Haus Lange / Krefeld. ( ... ) The painting’s lively situation needs spontaneous reaction in drawing and often there is surprise happening while working, which I welcome very much. I want to catch the atmosphere and mood of the place and transfer most of it to the watercolours. For me light is deliciously important, light, which is often artificially colored or somehow dipped in brown tones, and shadows, all cast the big drama. The painting style is derived from the observation of reality, internalization and transfer to the image. This appears to be a classic approach as with the Impressionists van Gogh, Munch and Dutch Genre Painting of the 17th century. There is joy in imitation of reality but it gets always a little fragile, contradictory, because the art history of recent decades will be neither denied. By means of most simple techniques and self-evident ways the present is captured seismographically. The presentation will reveal a complete picture of many individual parts, so the sketchy spontanious origination process reflects its directness and vitality. Manuela Wossowski |
